Sun City Hilton Head

All those years of hard work, raising your children, chauffeuring them to school, birthday parties, and sporting events have finally subsided. Now it's your turn!

Welcome to Sun City Hilton Head where the 55 and better crowd of active adults live! Designed by the legendary Del Webb Corporation in 1995, this 4,300-acre gated community is home to more than 11,000 residents and was recently named as one of America's 100 Best Master Planned Communities by Where to Retire magazine.

"It is all about the lifestyle," says Michael Bottoms, Director of Sales & Marketing for Pulte Homes at Sun City Hilton Head. "It's about enjoying life and it is apparent by the smiles on our homeowners' faces the minute someone steps inside."

According to a recent study by the National Association of Home Builders, more than 250,000 home buyers will purchase a home in 55+ communities with more than 100,000 units constructed in 2008 targeted by this growing group of consumers. The study also found that nearly 60 percent of active adult homebuyers felt they were moving into a better home.
Grand Living
Behind the gates of Sun City Hilton Head is a way of life built on action and ongoing activity. There is a full-time Lifestyle Director who assists in developing daily and weekly programs.

Movement in and around the community can be as active as a game of tennis on their 12-lighted clay courts or 36-holes of championship golf or as passive as planting vegetables in the community garden. There is the Yemassee Crafts Center that offers classes in ceramics, painting and sewing, or if you like building, you'll never leave the 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art workshop with separate rooms for large machinery, assembly tools and lumber.

"Sun City Hilton Head is about the individual," adds Michael. "Residents can be as active as they want. The amenity list is growing everyday with clubs and opportunities in which to participate. If one prefers a quiet walk to a fast-paced game of softball, our miles of trails are open for that as well."

Michael is quick to point out the magnificent Lowcountry landscape that surrounds Sun City Hilton Head. "The beauty of this area is an amenity as well," he adds. "The mild temperature, moss-draped oaks, the colorful marshes and the fresh air make living here even more extraordinary."
The unique South Carolina landscape plays hosts to the community's two championship golf courses designed by ten time PGA Tour Champion Mark McCumber. The Okatie Creek Golf Club course offers 6,724 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. There is also a 10,000 square-foot clubhouse overlooking the green. The Hidden Cypress Golf Club course is 6,946 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Adjacent to the club is the Recreation Complex which features a 5,000 square-feet of quality fitness equipment and classes, a restaurant and a 5,000 square-foot heated pool, one of the three outdoor pools in the community.

Pulte Home Quality
Homes in Sun City Hilton Head were designed for the discriminating 55 and better homebuyer with 16 floor plans to choose from ranging in size from 1,103 square-feet to 2,597 square feet. Plans are comprised of either two-bedroom/two-bathrooms, up to three bedroom/three and one-half bath, with lanai or sunroom and garage.

Perhaps the centerpiece of Sun City Hilton Head is its multimillion dollar 45-acre Town Square. The Community and Recreation Campus includes the Social Hall at Pinckney, a 17,000 square-foot building with ballroom, stage and meeting rooms for get-togethers, card games, club meetings, and workshops. The Purrysburg Fitness Center, one of two in the community, contains high-end fitness equipment and offers dance classes, aerobics and more. There is also an outdoor pool as well as an eight-lane, heated, indoor swimming pool with therapy spa.

"We invested in our infrastructure in order to offer our particular homebuyer more and on a grander scale," adds Michael. "Our residents are discerning and cultivated. They expect high end quality amenities for a good value."

Few can discuss Sun City Hilton Head without bringing up the more than 100 clubs and service organizations that are available, from the traditional Community Theatre or Ballroom Dance Club, to the more contemporary For the Love of Dogs Club or Motorcycle Club.

"Our residents have invested in Sun City Hilton Head as well and each day offer their expertise or knowledge in one of our many clubs and programs."
